ELSIE’S STORAGE ROOM MAKEOVER

ELSIE’S STORAGE ROOM MAKEOVER

Hello Hello! I am so excited because today I reveal the makeup of my storage room… and this is not just an ordinary storage room. Pretty “extra” at best. Especially my new best friend (a freezer that makes all my dreams come true). And I definitely fell a little into the sea to make the room aesthetically pleasing – but hey, this storage room is honestly changing life. Finally I feel like a real adult!

We are partnering with The Home Depot for this article. These are our name for many projects, materials, devices, fixtures. (Oh yes, and PLANTS, haha). As we started planning this room, we knew it would be perfect to be partners because they had everything we needed for the space.

Here is the pre and post view. This storage cabinet is a long corridor cabinet behind our garage. Since we no longer have a garage, we wanted to use this room to store all our extra off-season items (and then some!). In our basement there is a separate large cabinet for tools (bigger ones like saws).

To be fair, I haven’t taken a picture before with all our STUFFs, but it’s so high you couldn’t walk here! You can use your imagination.

And here is an opposite view. Adding these shelves was the biggest game changer so that we can decorate all our decorations, seasonal items, party items, toddler clothes that we recorded for the next child, etc. We can organize. I am very in love with these shelves. I used this Sterilit 70 QT. Ultra Storage Boxes to fill shelves. They are great for organizing all the random things – I love being able to still see the things in them.2020 best WAREHOUSE ROOM ideas, WAREHOUSE ROOM ideas solutions, the most trendy WAREHOUSE decors, 2020 WAREHOUSE ROOM editing ideas, the most beautiful WAREHOUSE ROOM design ideas

At the beginning of this summer, in IG Stories, I voted that we will paint the door in light or dark colors. Many people voted darkly, but then someone pointed out that if we make it white, I can see the spiders and I am SOLD.

I love white because it’s just a fresh, clean sheet. This room is 90% functional choices, but white paint is my 10% because it makes me happy. And I’m definitely more motivated to clean and organize visually pleasing places… that’s normal, right?

Let’s talk about storage! I will change these storage boxes forever because I don’t want to keep things we won’t use. At this point, I donate everything we do not use and do not intend to use next year, as we have been living in our house for three years.

Everything in this room is what we love and use. Not just for me to hide something. I am really grateful to think that you all have seen my office, because I have found a place to store material for upcoming projects (sometimes when we clean it happens where we throw things – yes). Intentional storage is much better.

Holiday items are a BIG category for me. I think you’re the grandmother about me. I like seasonal decor. I am so excited now that I have a place to store it all together, so when the next season comes I will actually know where everything is!

On this wall, we added a Dimensions white pegboard. This is one of my go-to ideas for storage because I love how you can customize it!

Let’s obsess the freezer, okay? This Frigidaire Frost Freeze Upright Freezer. I’m very excited about this! A complete game changer for our home.

That’s why I love our fridge, but the freezer part is extremely small. Therefore, we always knew that we wanted to add a deep freezer to our storage room in the basement. I had foreseen some kind of chest freezer that we would always grow, but my mom suggested that we make an upright freezer because it’s much easier to keep it tidy and see everything you have. Best advice ever – thank you mom.

Freezer is useful for many things:
– Overflow for those who cannot fit in the kitchen freezer.
-Easy junk food weekends and cheating nights (Jeremy and I are trying to swear by ordering a lot of delivery food, and this will be extremely useful).
– Keeping our refrigerator healthy. We especially like eating healthy food, but we splurge on weekends and special occasions. This is the most frustrating thing for me when there is a tube of cookie dough or a glass of ice cream facing my face when I try to be healthy.
-Storage in easy meals. We have been making a lot of vegetable soups lately and I am very happy to be able to save my frozen vegetables. We also like keeping fast food options at hand for healthy Nova (he likes fried cauliflower fried rice as much as regular fried rice and we all love steamed broccoli).
– We can make holiday memories by keeping materials like cake crust at hand.
-When there is a good sale, it can always stock the things we use (like stock UP).

Forgive me if you think it’s stupid to list everything I will use my freezer, but this is a great practical upgrade for us. We are so excited!

Thanks to The Home Depot for sponsoring this post! And thank you so much for reading! Collin and I had a lot of fun working on this project. It is definitely one of the SUPER functional areas that will pay for the coming years and years! xx – Elsie
