“ Under the Sea ”, the most widespread jewel trend of 2019, celebrates the ocean award with real and fake shells and pearls.

Shell-decorated earrings, necklaces, bracelets and anklets, a trend that emerged in a collective street style last summer, evolved throughout the winter, waving surfers-relaxation shackles (like tie dye) is common in cities as well as on the coast.

ELLE UK’s Accessory Editor Molly Haylor explains: “In the Prada AW17 show first – Miuccia Prada is always one step ahead – bullets have been part of a track since then. Now we can combine this trend in a variety of ways, from hair slide to earring, to upgrade your daily wardrobe. ”

Fashion search engine Lyst has reported a 43 percent increase in search for the word ‘bullets’ since March. The luxury e-commerce site, Net-A-Porter, confirms that the bullets have sales power, explaining that it is a ‘big’ trend for them, driven by the new brand, Seed, which performs extremely well.

Crafty jewelery that mimics the spirited attitude of the shell has also taken its place for fashion girls.

Featuring alternative materials such as wood and beads, the trend adopts both craftsmanship and jejune toy-like creations as equally valuable items to match everything from suitability to beachwear.

And it has been moved from the track to the Net-A-Porter wish lists (with a 100 percent increase in “beaded” jewelry searches since 2018, led by Roxanne Assoulin and Kyoto Tango).

The e-commerce site launched the new brand STVDIO to respond to the growing demand ‘creating hand-woven brass jewelry pieces and increasing sales for this trend’.

The least identifiable and trending abstract jewels are celebrated in an unexpected and artistic way, giving the user a high-speed, flashy aesthetic. Although apparently niche, the trend has real legs, according to Lyst, terms like ‘faces’ have been increasing by 21 percent since March.

‘If last year is all about one earring,’ says Haylor, ‘then everything is abstract this season. With shapes and sculptural designs, Chloé, Ferragamo and McQueen adopted this trend on AW19 podiums. ‘

“Everything about big and bold, forget about the elegant gold chain, about these big links and hardware,” cries Haylor, the chain and link-centered trend in everyone’s ears, necks and wrists. Net-A-Porter has seen a 130 percent search increase for the term ‘chain necklace’ since last year, and a brief glance at the site shows that most offers are far from sensitive.
