HOW I ORGANIZED MY FRIDGE IN ONE AFTERNOON!

HOW I ORGANIZED MY FRIDGE IN ONE AFTERNOON!

I have a confession – it’s been a long, long time since I cleaned my refrigerator properly. Embarrassingly long. I got pregnant the last time I cleaned it and I know that starting parenting will probably take a while to be cleaned again (and boy was right!). My daughter soon turns 3, so I’m going to let you do math on this. It was a goal for me to make a complete clean / disposal / organization of our refrigerator, so I finally ordered the materials I needed, I bought it one day and did it all one afternoon – YES! I basically took a similar approach when I arranged my hall closet one afternoon and I love to deal with a gap at once in my house as the opportunity arises. Much more can be done than trying to do it all at once! Okay, how did I handle the fridge monster and I won!

1.) Remove all food and group by category. First, I pulled everything out of my fridge and set it on the counter / floor so I could see it all. There were some things I didn’t have to worry about going out for an hour (like ketchup or vegetables), but I kept things like meat in place just before I cleaned up that area not to stay longer than the refrigerator. You can also add some ice to a cooler and keep them there while cleaning.HOW I ORGANIZED A REFRIGERATOR IN THE LUNCH !, ideas for placing a product in the refrigerator, how to put the product in the refrigerator, the solutions of the refrigerator, the recommendations of food in the refrigerator

2.) Deeply clean that empty refrigerator! Then he wiped and cleaned every surface of the refrigerator and removed all the drawers to wash them. Be sure to check and see how your shelves and drawers come out so you can clean each piece separately. I spent a lot of time thinking that my shelves did not come out until I realized they had an accident and I made these areas much easier as I wasn’t trying to clean the cracks with a toothpick (maybe check your user manual or search for your online refrigerator model to see how your model came out). I noticed there were two large separate soy sauce spills in the main area, and at some point it felt incredible to clean condiment racks and all that syrupy garbage as it was. Blech! Be sure to check and wipe bottles / jars with sticky bottoms spilled on the fridge, so put the clean items back in the fridge. I made a quick cleaner in a glass spray bottle with some water, Sal’s Suds and a few drops of lemon and sweet orange essential oil.

3.) Get rid of old / unused food! Once your fridge has been cleaned, you can start looking at your food and throw anything past its expiration date or a food you know you haven’t eaten yet (maybe you’ve recently learned a food sensitivity or something but it wasn’t like the first jar). This is also the time when you will find the rest that you forget about having a 1, die, so it’s nice to get rid of any of these items too! Put any good food in a stake to see if a friend or neighbor can use it, and then put it in a stake to throw away other containers or rinse and recycle. The amount of things you can get rid of when you know it’s in a refrigerator is really amazing! Also, I got rid of everything with ingredients I now refrain from buying (like a few things with high fructose corn syrup) and added them to my shopping list to find a better version in the health food store. Also, when I got rid of a ton of old / unused items, I noticed that I found much more space on my refrigerator door shelves. Certainly there were items stacked at two (or three!) Depths on these shelves, so there is always an avalanche waiting to happen and now everything has a place.HOW I ORGANIZED A REFRIGERATOR IN THE LUNCH !, ideas for placing a product in the refrigerator, how to put the product in the refrigerator, the solutions of the refrigerator, the recommendations of food in the refrigerator

4.) ORGANIZE! Our containers for food storage, leftovers and packaging lunches are running out, so I bought this set of stainless steel utensils (great for making raw meat if you’re trying to waste less while shopping), a set of glass lids (nice oven safe) and these small round glass containers. I’ve used mason jars that we’ve had for a while around the house for a while, but they continued to disappear (I swear they look like socks – I don’t know where they’re going!)

These organizers were perfect for putting together jars of similar food, and the handles make it easy to pull out a drawer, pick up what you need and slide it back. I also added two of the smaller ones to the drawer to separate the dessert. Cookie dough and lunch meat / bacon items such as chocolate sticks (like my chilled chocolate bar). This set comes with eight drawers, so you should have a little bit of background to skip organizing your freezer.

This bottle organizer is perfect for holding wine / sparkling water and I can put it on a lower shelf as they are horizontal and I don’t always have to go to places crowded with longer items. Being there. Maybe strange but I always wanted one of these dispensers to keep your boxes tidy and I chose it because there is a lid on top (some are open) so I can still set smaller containers — You should keep this space in mind!

I love storing / packing food in these Stasher bags (snack size is also super useful) and I bought a container to fit the width of the bags that I can stack upright in the fridge. and useful!

Look before and after! Although there is still a lot of food in the fridge, it feels clearly defined where it goes and there is room for all the items we use. I love him!!

Another nice feature of having more designated areas for food is that it’s easier to find where someone in the house is after they put them – fruits go here, meat comes here, olives here, etc. And the organized refrigerator came to me and made me feel like I got a house clean, but I’ll take all credit so I know it’s mine! I will no longer be embarrassed to show my refrigerator if MTV Cribs is unaware… come on! XO. Laura
